Summer Lace Shawl Rigid Heddle Weaving Pattern
Every shawl is my favourite but let me tell you about this one. It is light, it takes up almost no space in a handbag, it travels well and it pairs with everything! It has a delicate 3/1 weave, but because of the 15 dent reed, the floats are so small they don’t catch on anything; combined with plain weave, the pattern stands out. It’s also super long for multiple wraps, or wrap it once and have enough to keep your arms warm too!
You will need a minimum 20” loom (150 slots), a 15 dent reed and 2 pick-up sticks. However…I’ve given instructions if you want to use a 12 or 12.5 dent reed too in which case you will need a 24 or 25” loom.
Makes 1 scarf about 72.5” x 16.5”+ fringe.
