Are you ready for something a little more exciting than stripes and checks? This plain weave towel is anything but plain. The beauty of this towel is all in the threading and weaving. A simple pattern that repeats in the warp and weft creates a towel that will wow anyone.
Chock full of pictures and video links to help you succeed!
Pattern makes 2 tea towels approximately 19”x 26”
Equipment: This pattern requires a 24” rigid heddle, a 10 dent reed, 3 shuttles (boat or stick) and all the usual weaving paraphernalia
Materials: 3 colours of 2/8 cotton (I’ve used Maurice Brassard)
Skill Level: Intermediate…The pattern itself is not difficult, however it will take some concentration to warp correctly and patience to use multiple shuttles.
