Linen Placemat Rigid Heddle Weaving Pattern
A simple plain weave project that uses hemstitching to create a lace effect. Linen is a hardwearing and washable material and will set the mood for an elegant dinner. Or, use cotton, cotton bamboo or cotolin to weave this in fun colours. Try hemstitching in contrast colours for a more casual look.
Pattern requires a 16” rigid heddle and a 12.5 dent reed.
Pattern makes 2 placemats measuring approximately 18” x 13”
This is a good beginner project and a great way to practice hemstitching
