Participants will learn how to weave a beautiful scarf using yarns from their own stash. This class is designed for weavers who want to explore creative ways to work with yarns they already have, without needing any new materials. Through detailed instruction, you'll learn how to choose the right yarns, plan your project, and weave a stunning scarf on your loom. Whether you're looking to reduce your stash or create a one-of-a-kind piece, this class will guide you step-by-step in making a scarf that reflects your personal style. *Note, we will NOT be warping in this class, but you will have all the information you need to warp your own masterpiece after class!
Learning Objectives:
Master the art of "shopping your stash" by selecting the perfect yarns you already own for your project.
Confidently choose and combine colours to create striking, harmonious designs.
Understand how to determine the appropriate reed size for various yarns.
Explore techniques for mixing different warps to add texture and depth to your weaving.
Learn how to adapt a variety of yarns to fit your reed, regardless of size or type.
Maintain consistent tension throughout your project for beautiful results.
Develop strategies to troubleshoot and manage challenging warps with ease.
Required Materials
Rigid Heddle loom, any size and your reeds
Any yarn that you might want to use in your scarf. Don’t worry about weight or fibre content, if you like it, include it!
