WabiSabi Scarf Weaving Class

Join Tammy, The Rogue Weaver, for an inspiring rigid heddle weaving class that embraces the art of spontaneity. In this class, you’ll dive deep into your stash yarn collection, learning how to creatively sort and pair yarns of different colors and textures. Tammy will guide you through selecting the right reed and warping your loom in ways that break traditional rules—resulting in a scarf that’s as unique and beautiful as the materials you use.

No experience with intricate patterns is necessary. The focus here is on creativity, spontaneity, and celebrating the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in the imperfect and the unexpected, though students should be comfortable warping independently.

What to Bring:

  • Your stash yarn (all those odds and ends you’ve been holding onto!)

  • Rigid heddle loom and stand (stand is optional but recommended)

  • ALL your reeds

  • Every shuttle you own! (you might need one for every yarn you use in your warp)

  • All the usual weaving paraphernalia

  • A warping board if you prefer hybrid warping

  • Your adventurous spirit!

By the end of the class, your loom will be fully warped and ready for weaving, but the majority of your scarf will be woven at home. You’ll leave the class equipped with all the skills and creative techniques needed to finish your project, along with fresh inspiration to explore in your future weaving adventures!

Please note: there is no pattern for this class but each student will receive a pdf of my Design Your Own e-booklet.
