Mini Plaid Tea Towels Rigid Heddle Weaving Pattern
These towels have a tiny plaid mixed with a basic waffle weave pattern. What sets this pattern apart is the ability to weave a little waffle weave and a little plain weave in the same pick! It looks complicated, but with creative use of 2 pick up sticks, it is actually super simple. This pattern includes many video links, and 1 in particular to show how to insert and use the pick up stick.
Pattern uses 2/8 cotton from Maurice Brassard but includes the colours and link to Cotton Clouds if you want to purchase the cotton kit. I’ve given 2 colour combinations to make them suitable year round.
Requires a min. 20” rigid heddle loom, a 10 dent reed, 3 shuttles and all the usual weaving paraphernalia. This pattern is easily adaptable to a larger or smaller loom.
This pattern uses 2 pick up sticks so weavers should be comfortable with using at least 1 pick up stick.
Makes 2 towels about 28” x 16.5”
